The Arts
Moorestown Friends’ comprehensive program in musical, visual and performing arts allows students to explore and develop their gifts. Young artists learn through hands-on instruction by talented faculty members in drawing, painting, ceramics, woodworking, photography, jewelry design, theater, voice, instrumental music and other arts disciplines. The Moorestown Friends School Arts Program reflects the school's long-term commitment to nurturing the creativity and self-expression of every student. The arts are an integral part of each well-educated individual and can be appreciated both as a way of seeing the world and of expressing the range of human emotions. Student artwork lines the school's hallways in rotating exhibitions and is showcased in annual art shows. Weekly assemblies bring diverse professionals to campus. A bi-annual residency by a visiting professional artist has brought well-known sculptors, painters, poets, mimes, dancers, actors and other artists who direct hands-on workshops for students at all levels. The entire school also comes together for concerts and performances in our 450-seat theater, including a fall musical, a spring drama, holiday concerts, a 3rd/4th grade musical, a 7th grade play produced entirely in one week and a senior play.
