MFS Basketball Hosts Two Doubleheaders Next Week | MFS in the News | Fox Tracks

Save the Date! Exciting Format Changes Planned MLK, Jr. Day of Service on January 16

Please plan to be a part of the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service at Moorestown Friends School on Monday, January 16 from 10 - 11:30 a.m. The day will feature remarks to the community by Sherry Coleman, who specializes in issues relating to diversity in independent school communities. Coleman is the principal of STC Consulting & Associates and a member of Call to Action, a National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) equity and justice think tank.

The schedule for the Day of Service:

  10 a.m. Meeting for Worship  
  10:15 a.m. Remarks by Sherry Coleman  
  10:25 a.m.

Lower/Middle School students and families depart to participate in activities in Dining Hall Commons and Stokes Hall.

Upper School students and families stay in Meeting House for panel discussion hosted by students who participated in the Student Diversity Leadership Conference.

 
    The Upper School Diversity Club will also host three 20-minute diversity workshops in the West Building.  
  10:30 a.m. Toiletry organizing, quilting, knitting and toys activities will take place in the Dining Hall Commons and Stokes Hall.  
  11:30 a.m. Activities Conclude.  

Come Out and Watch MFS Hoops Next Week!

Next week, the school will host two varsity basketball doubleheaders in the Field House. On Monday, December 19, the Foxes host Baptist and on December 21, the first day of Winter Break, Palmyra visits MFS. On both days, the girls game tips off at 3:45 p.m. with the boys game scheduled for a 5:15 p.m. tipoff. Also on December 21, many alumni will be in attendance for Young Alumni Night and the MFS Alumni Basketball Game, which tips off at 7 p.m.

  • CORRECTION: In the December 9 E-News, it was incorrectly reported that seventh grader Andrew Goren plays Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carol at the Walnut Street Theater. Andrew plays "Turkey Boy" and other characters in the production which runs through December 21.
