Beverly Tatum Lecture at Abington Friends this Friday | Visiting Day at MMM Moorestown Friends School E-News - September 24, 2008 Seeking Parental Help To Make New Jersey Day a Success!
Attention Parents: We are looking for your help to celebrate our first-ever New Jersey Day (Tuesday, October 7) at MFS. Could you make a food item for students to enjoy with their lunches? We would like to have food items that are "New Jersey Fresh," e.g., blueberry muffins, cranberry cookies, peach cobbler, vegetable salad or soup. Upper School students from our Food Science and Nutrition courses will give small portions of the food items to any of our students in the dining hall during LS, MS and US lunch. Prepare two dozen cookies or one dozen muffins or eight cups of salad, and we will apportion and serve. Parents able to prepare and donate food items should notify Barbara Kreider via e-mail at bkreider@mfriends.org or Sandra Karasin at Sjkarasin@aol.com. Items should be delivered to Room 17 (lower level of Middle/Upper School) on New Jersey Day. If you are involved with food production in New Jersey (from cooking to manufacturing to transporting) and would be interested in providing a food kiosk at New Jersey Day, please contact Barbara Caldwell at bcaldwell@mfriends.org. Thank you in advance for your generous donations! Barbara Kreider, Ph.D. Science Dept. Friends School Visiting Day at Moorestown Monthly Meeting: Sunday, Oct. 19 The Moorestown Monthly Meeting sends out a warm welcome to the children and families of Moorestown Friends School. We have an exciting program to welcome you to Please join us at 9 a.m. when Miriam Feyerherm and Ken Henke will lead us in an exploration of Friends’ Testimonies through story telling. At 10 a.m., as story telling concludes, we will have a 45-minute Meeting for Worship. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience this practice with your children who participate in Meeting every week as part of their school activities. As is our practice, after the first 15 minutes of Worship, children are invited to withdraw from the Meeting room to attend First Day School classes in other parts of the building. Any children wishing to remain for the full 45 minutes are more than welcome to do so. Following Worship, everyone will gather across the hall from the Meeting room in the D’Olier Room for refreshment and fellowship. We look forward to sharing this meaningful morning with you.
