MFS News May 15, 2009 NEH'S PICTURING AMERICA PROGRAM COMES TO MFS IN 2009-10
Looking for violin photos and photos of Mrs. Dawson's reception? Click here. Sorry for the error! Thanks to the efforts of Lower School Librarian Deb Alterman and Lower School Director Kelly Goula, MFS has been chosen to participate in the National Endowment for the Humanities’ Picturing America Program. It is an innovative program that helps teach American history and culture through our nation’s art and provides students with a gateway to the humanities. MFS received 40 large, high-quality reproductions of selected American masterpieces, in addition to supplementary materials which include resources and lesson plans for using the images to teach social studies, history, writing, literature, geography, civics, and other subjects. The masterpieces will be displayed throughout the school during the 2009-10 school year.
