AUTHOR/ILLUSTRATOR BRIAN WEAVER '99 TO VISIT MFS
Assemblies Scheduled for Grades 1-5

On Thursday, October 29, author and illustrator and Moorestown Friends School alumnus Brian Weaver ’99 will present a series of assemblies for first through fifth graders and will visit Lower School classrooms.

Under his professional name of Neil Numberman, Weaver recently published his first picture book Do Not Build a Frankenstein. He previously illustrated the graphic novel Joey Fly, Private Eye, in Creepy Crawly Crime (written by Aaron Reynolds) and is currently working on the sequel Joey Fly, Private Eye, and the Big Hairy Drama.

After graduating from Moorestown Friends School in 1999, Weaver graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and then received his M.F.A. from New York’s School of Visual Arts. His work has appeared in the New York Times Book Review, Nickelodeon and Radar magazines. He is also the creator of the New York underground comic series Rabid Rabbit. His drawings have been recognized by American Illustration and The Society of Illustrators.

Weaver will also be at the Barnes and Noble at East Gate Square on the evening of October 29, beginning at 7 p.m.

Moorestown Friends School is a day school founded by the Religious Society of Friends (also known as Quakers) in 1785. Today the school enrolls 711 students from Preschool through Grade 12.
