TWO SOPHOMORES EARN PRESTIGIOUS SUMMER RESEARCH INTERNSHIPS
Two Moorestown Friends School sophomores have been accepted as paid summer interns in the prestigious Science and Engineering Apprentice Program (SEAP) with the U.S. Office of Naval Research. Karan Hiremath and Gabe Hege will spend eight weeks this summer conducting research at a Department of Navy (DoN) laboratory. The goals of SEAP are to encourage participating students to pursue science and engineering careers, to further their education via mentoring by laboratory personnel and their participation in research, and to make them aware of DoN Research and technology efforts, which can lead to employment within the DoN. SEAP provides competitive research internships to approximately 250 high school students each year. Both Hiremath and Hege are active participants in the Moorestown Friends robotics program under the tutelage of Upper School Physics Teacher Tim Clarke.
