MFS News March 4, 2008 STUDENTS SELECTED TO REGIONAL MUSIC GROUPS
Six Moorestown Friends School (MFS) students were accepted into highly competitive Southern New Jersey music groups in the first semester. The following students earned positions in the South Jersey Band and Orchestra Directors Association’s high school level Wind and String Ensembles: eighth grader Christine Cha (violin), sophomore Monica Chelius (flute), freshman Louise Peterson (violin) and senior Eric Teitelbaum (violin). Koby Schmetterling, a seventh grader who plays percussion, earned a position in the junior high school level group. Monica Chelius and junior Maeve Kelly, who plays the French horn, were also accepted into the prestigious Western Burlington County Honors Band. Brian Howard is the instrumental music teacher for both the Middle School and Upper School at MFS.
