FIFTH GRADER WINS CONSERVE WILDLIFE ART AND ESSAY CONTEST

Moorestown Friends School fifth-grader Nicolette Tamburri, a Cinnaminson resident, won first place in Burlington County in the “Species on the Edge Art and Essay Contest” run by the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey. Her essay and poster were on the yellow-crowned night heron. Click here to see the winning work. Lower School/Middle School Science teacher Mario Masso sponsored the entry.

The mission of the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ is to conserve and protect New Jersey's endangered and threatened wildlife. The “Species on the Edge” contest began in 2003, and is designed to engage New Jersey’s fifth graders in learning about the more than 70 endangered and threatened wildlife species in the state. Contest participants gain a better understanding of the wildlife and habitats of New Jersey and what needs to be done to protect them.
