MFS TO HOST PEACE SYMPOSIUM FEBRUARY 2

Fifth grade students from five local Quaker schools will come to Moorestown Friends School Friday, February 2 to participate in the annual Peace Symposium conducted by teachers at six South Jersey schools: MFS, Haddonfield Friends School, Friends School Mullica Hill, Orchard Friends School of Moorestown, Friends Academy of Westampton and Westfield Friends School of Cinnaminson.

Each school rotates hosting the event with each taking on a two-year period of serving as host.

“This is an event that has been taking place for over 20 years,” said Lynne Brick, MFS Lower and Middle School Quaker Education Coordinator. “It is a wonderful opportunity for the students to interact and devise ways that they can make the world a better place. The students will be brainstorming ‘rules for peace’ in their small group discussions and I’m sure there will be many creative ideas.”
