MOORESTOWN FRIENDS STUDENTS PLACE ONE-TWO IN WILDLIFE ESSAY CONTEST

Two fifth grade students from Moorestown Friends School (MFS) were the top finishers in Burlington County in the “Species on the Edge Art and Essay Contest”  run by the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New JerseyTaylor Johns was awarded first place for her poster and essay on the red-headed woodpecker, and Morgan Sloan placed second for her poster and essay on the Allegheny woodrat.  Both students reside in Moorestown.  Middle and Upper School science teacher Chuck Blatherwick encouraged the girls to enter the contest.

An awards ceremony for the contest winners will be held in Trenton on April 26.  The mission of the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ is to conserve and protect New Jersey's endangered and threatened wildlife.
