ELEVEN JOIN WORLD LANGUAGE HONOR SOCIETIES AT MOORESTOWN FRIENDS

Eleven Moorestown Friends School students will be inducted into world language honor societies on May 10 at a dinner and ceremony, beginning at 6 p.m. in the school’s Dining Hall/Commons.

Named to the Spanish Honor Society (Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica) were senior Courtney Brown of Voorhees, juniors Morgan Burgess of Moorestown, Sarah Rosenbach of Mount Laurel, and Omari Scott of Hainesport, and sophomores Orysia Bezpalko of Mount Laurel, Aubrie Campbell of Moorestown, Hannah Levy of Voorhees, Gabrielle Martinez of Camden, Nina Samuel of Moorestown, and Hannah Spielberg of Westmont.

Named to the French Honor Society (Société Honoraire de Français) was sophomore Sophia Demuynck of Mount Holly.

The induction ceremony will take place on May 10 in the Moorestown Meeting House after a reception and dinner in the school’s dining hall.  The French and Spanish Honor Societies recognize superior achievement in world languages at the intermediate or advanced level and superior academic achievement in a student’s total program. The organizations are designed to promote interest in the study of French and Spanish language and culture.

The Société Honoraire de Français and the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica are national organizations with chapters throughout the United States. Moorestown Friends School chapters have been in existence since 1989.

Moorestown Friends School begins formal world language instruction in fifth grade. Its world languages program features small classes and individualized instruction, along with an introduction to Latin. Classes are supplemented by international student exchanges and service learning trips.
