MFS STUDENTS HELP THE HUNGRY WITH HOLIDAY MEALS
Moorestown Friends School students have contributed, packed and delivered 120 complete holiday meals – all the ingredients for a holiday feast, along with $1137 in funds for turkey/meat purchases – to New Visions Community Center in Camden. Each box collected and packed by the students included two cans of vegetables, two cans of gravy, mashed or sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, stuffing mix, muffin or biscuit mix, pumpkin pie mix, evaporated milk, pie crust mix and a student-designed computer generated coloring book. The Thanksgiving Food Drive is an all-school effort with contributions coming from students and their families, faculty and staff.
Community service is a year-round activity and part of the curriculum through every level of instruction at MFS. It has been an MFS graduation requirement since 1989 that seniors perform community service, and many students exceed the 50 hours required for graduation.
