TEN STUDENTS, TWO TEACHERS FROM NORTHWEST SPAIN ARRIVE AT MFS
Ten students (age 14-16) from Lourdesko Ama Ikastetxea (LAI) School, in Elorrio, Spain, arrived in South Jersey on Sunday evening to begin an exchange program at Moorestown Friends School (MFS). Elorrio is located in northwest Spain, near Bilbao.
Accompanied by two teachers, the students will spend over two weeks at the school and at the homes of host families. A group of Moorestown Friends students will visit Elorrio for two weeks in March. This is third exchange between the schools, according to MFS Middle and Upper School Spanish teacher Mariana Falana.
“This is a great opportunity for students to get immersed in another language and culture,” she said. “Our partnership with Lourdesko Ama Ikastetxea has been wonderful and we look forward to visiting Spain in March.”
While the students will participate in courses, they also will take a number of trips to learn more about American history and culture, focusing on history and resources found in the greater Philadelphia region. Below is an itinerary of activities for the group:
