SENIOR PLACES THIRD IN STATEWIDE SOIL CONSERVATION POSTER CONTEST

Moorestown Friends School senior Sarah Van Cleve of Lumberton placed third in a statewide conservation poster contest sponsored by the New Jersey Association of Conservation Districts (NJACD).  Van Cleve’s poster was entered in the competition as a result of her first place finish in the grades 10-12 category of the Burlington County Soil Conservation District Poster Contest.

The annual poster contest is designed to promote a greater awareness and broader understanding of our environment.  The topic changes annually with the 2007 theme being “Today is the Day to be a Part of Conservation’s Power.”

Van Cleve, who will attend UCLA this fall, is invited to an awards ceremony at the New Jersey State Museum in Trenton on May 31 where she will receive a $50 prize.

Upper/Middle School science teacher Chuck Blatherwick coordinated all MFS entries in the contest.
