Strategic Plan - Governance Goal
Create and sustain a committee structure that fully supports the school's mission and Strategic Plan and the School Committee's fiduciary responsibility. Rationale The School Committee is charged with the governance and fiduciary oversight of Moorestown Friends School. The Committee must seek to bring together the optimal balance of skilled trustees to guide the school for the long term, oversee the implementation of the Strategic Plan, support the Head, and ensure the school's fiduciary integrity. Strategies • Support and evaluate the Head of School to allow him/her to bring his/her best to MFS. • Review and revise the by-laws to ensure proper governance procedures. • Refine the trustee selection and nominating process to identify potential trustee candidates who will best serve the needs of the School Committee and the school. • Seek greater racial and ethnic diversity on the School Committee. • Create and sustain sub-committees (ad hoc or standing) that serve the strategic planning objectives of the school • Create and sustain board development programs to raise the abilities of the individual trustees and the Committee as a whole. • Oversee the fiscal integrity of the school.
