MFS Moorestown Friends School

The Annual Fund - Q & A

Q: How much should we give?

A: It is hoped that parents and alumni will give as generously as possible to MFS. Every single gift, regardless of the amount, is valued. When the school applies for foundation grants in support of special projects (such as the recent renovation of the Woodward Henry Diller Memorial Library, which received a generous matching grant from the Edward E. Ford Foundation), one of the criteria for evaluating the applicant school is the percentage of participation in its annual fund. The breadth of commitment for Moorestown Friends among alumni, parents and friends demonstrates a “vote of confidence” and favorably influences the school’s pursuit of foundation grants.

In addition, annual giving participation is an important measure of our success as gauged in accreditation criteria.

Most of the Annual Fund comes from leadership giving (gifts in the $250-$10,000 range, see "Gift Societies.") However, many gifts of $25, $50 or $100 add up to impressive sums. Every gift makes a difference to MFS.
