MFS Moorestown Friends School

Support MFS - The Annual Fund

Every year MFS alumni, parents of alumni, parents, grandparents, faculty and staff and friends of the school join in making tax-deductible gifts to the Annual Fund for Moorestown Friends, which supports the school’s operating budget, touching the lives of teachers and students at Friends every day.

The School’s supporters together contributed $616,068 to The Annual Fund in the 2007-08 year. It would have taken over $11 million dollars in endowment to generate this additional income for the year. Gift revenue helps advance financial strategies of the school, such as keeping faculty salaries, compensation and professional development opportunities as competitive as possible with other Delaware Valley independent schools in order to recruit and retain a superb and dedicated faculty.

The Annual Fund is the school’s top philanthropic priority. Unlike public and parochial schools, MFS is entirely dependent on income from tuition, endowment and auxiliary revenue, and the Annual Fund. For 2007-2008 the school’s operating budget was over $13 million dollars. Moorestown Friends’ educational mission drives its finances. Your gift to the Annual Fund is a powerful endorsement of an MFS education, rooted in the Quaker tradition.

The name of the Fund was changed from The Annual Sustaining Fund to The Fund for Moorestown Friends School in 2004, to reflect the school's hope that the fund will not just sustain MFS, but enable MFS to excel.
