I give to MFS because... Patricia McEwan - Bordentown, NJ
Patricia McEwan has been teaching in the MFS Lower School for 15 years. A graduate of Kean University, her bright and welcoming preschool classroom in the White Building is home to the youngest students at MFS. Subjects come alive in her classroom as students read, write, ask questions, interview experts, conduct experiments, take field trips and share their learning. In this nurturing environment, children begin to explore language arts, mathematics, social studies and science. Engagement in visual arts, music, physical education, computers, library use, and Spanish complement the academic program. “Words cannot express how proud I am to begin
my 15th year with the outstanding community of teachers, staff and students
at MFS. I’ve seen first-hand that Moorestown Friends School’s
commitment to excellence begins with our very youngest students, and
remains just as strong, if not stronger, as each one progresses throughout
the school. This drive for excellence is a top priority for the faculty’s
development as well, for we cannot expect the best from our children
if we do not strive for the best from ourselves. Keeping
abreast of the latest educational research supports my goal to continually
refine and improve the preschool program. I am pleased to stand beside
my colleagues, this year and every year, in supporting the fund." – Patricia
