Tuition and Financial Aid

Submitting a Financial Aid Application

The Moorestown Friends School Financial Aid program is designed to make an MFS education possible for all families based on demonstrated financial need and the availability of funds. MFS is proud to use the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of financial need based on the information that families share in the application which includes assets, income, expenses, and debts.

To get started, please go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The Clarity Application is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools.

Please remember to return to your dashboard after you complete and submit your Clarity Application, as MFS requires you to upload additional tax documentation.

The deadlines for completing the financial aid application including relevant supplemental documents are:

  • December 1: Early Decision Applicants
  • December 15: Returning Families
  • February 2: Regular Decision Applicants

If you need support during the process of completing your application, there is in-app support available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support at support@claritytuition.com or (206) 210-3752, in both English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish.

Please note: Financial Aid at MFS is available for students in Grades 1-12.

Merit-Based and Need-Based Scholarships

Moorestown Friends School offers three scholarship programs. Learn more about each opportunity, as well as how to apply for them below.

  1. Determination of Tuition Aid — Grants are awarded by the Financial Aid Committee. It is composed of the Director of Enrollment Management, the Associate Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, and the Director of Finance and Operations, in consultation with the Head of School and the Division Directors. All information submitted in support of such applications is strictly confidential.
  2. Basis for Grants — A family’s financial need is the primary consideration in determining awards.
  3. Limitations — Grants are applied only to tuition costs and all awards are made on the basis of yearly application.
  4. Conditions —  A financial aid request will be considered by the Financial Aid Committee on the condition that the following requirements are met:
    • The student is enrolled for the school year for which the financial aid request is made and the
      enrollment deposit has been paid.
    • In the case of students presently enrolled, all current financial obligations to the School have been paid.
  5. Accept/Appeal Financial aid awards are to be accepted or appealed three weeks after they are offered. Families will need to fill out the accept/appeal form within this three-week timeframe. Otherwise, the financial aid awards will be released and distributed to other families.
  1. Grants are made by the Financial Aid Committee at meetings. Letters will be emailed confirming awards shortly after these meetings.
  2. The enrollment deposit is refundable only if a family determines that the financial aid award is not sufficient to permit the child to attend MFS. Within two weeks of notification of the financial aid award, the school must be notified in writing to that effect before the deposit can be refunded.
