The Moorestown Friends School team of Upper School students (pictured from left) Bailey Butterworth ’20, Charles Kropiewnicki ’17, and captain John Barton ’17 finished in second place at the 28th Annual Burlington County Academic Tournament, held on January 21 at Lenape High School. Twelve teams competed in total with students also representing Cherokee, Lenape, Riverside, Seneca, and Shawnee high schools.

In the morning, three preliminary round games determined the top four teams, who then moved on to the semifinals. MFS defeated the Lenape 1 team in their semifinal game before falling in the final to Lenape 2.

There are five categories selected for each head-to-head matchup. Categories include: General Knowledge, History/Government/Politics, Language/Literature, Math, Economics, Art/Music, Geography, Sports, Leisure, and Science.

This is just the second year Moorestown Friends has competed in this tournament. Last year, the MFS team finished in third place.
