Three MFS students received awards in the Burlington County Soil Conservation District’s “Local Heroes: Your Hardworking Pollinators” Poster Contest. Christine Chandran ’21 received First Prize in the Grades 4-6 category, Marcus Kowalski ’21 received Second Prize for Grades 4-6, and Sonia Patel ’19 won First Prize in the Grades 7-9 category.
Students had to research local pollinators, reasons for their decline, provide accurate information on their posters, and determine viable solutions to increase pollinators and their habitats all in the form of an aesthetically pleasing poster design. First prize winners received $200 while second place winners received $100.
