The MFS Deborah Heart Challenge Team earned silver medals at the 17th Annual Deborah Heart Challenge and Art Competition on Sunday, February 22 at Pemberton Township High School. This year’s competitors included teams from Pemberton, Lenape, Shawnee, Cherokee, Seneca, Maple Shade, Northern Burlington, and Cherry Hill West. Teams fielded questions about the heart, lungs, and vascular system from a panel of Deborah Heart and Lung Center physicians.

Competitors were Erin Chen ’16, Hannah Thomson ’17, Dragon Ding ’17, and co-captains Ed Gelernt ’16 and Josh Murdy ’16. The MFS team was prepped for the competition with the help of a practice team and question writers including: Ahimsa Aradhya ’17, Amanda Cooper ’18, Kierra DeVaughn ’16, Margaux Fox ’18, Katie Gregory ’16, Aparna Hiremath ’17, Anisha Pande ’16, Priya Patel ’16, Katy Repholz ’17, Elyse Ryden ’16, Kennedy Sanders ’16, Zach Swope ’17, and Nick Tursi ’17.

The team was coached by Upper School Science Teacher Drew Newman.
