Five Middle School students participated in the MATHCOUNTS Ocean County competition at Ocean County College’s campus on February 4. The seventh graders were Roma Jha, Janiah McRae, and Ryan Mullock. The eighth grade students were Lauren Kam and Kayla Patel.
The team of Roma, Ryan, Lauren, and Kayla placed fifth in the team competition. For the individual competition, Kayla placed 15th and Lauren placed 22nd. Kayla also received a special recognition award.
This year, the MathCounts team had three new Upper School student coaches — Bailey Butterworth ’20, Hannah Jin ’20, and Dylan Zhou ’19.
