Moorestown Friends Alumni Weekend will be held on May 5-6. To begin the weekend, alumni have been invited to attend the Dinner Among Friends banquet at 6 p.m. on May 5 which features the presentation of the 2017 Alumni Association Awards to Bill Gardiner ’67, Sonia Mixter Guzman ’02, and former faculty member Miriam Feyerherm.

William L. Gardiner ’67 of Georgetown, TX is the 2017 Alumni Association Service Award winner in recognition of his extraordinary Servant Leadership with Habitat for Humanity, working toward a world where everybody has a decent place to live. Bill has helped to lead teams building homes in Texas, around the country, including significant post-Hurricane Katrina relief work, and around the world.

Sonia Mixter Guzman ’02 of Camden, NJ, Young Alumni Award recipient, is the Director of Communications and Educational Outreach at the Ronald McDonald House in Camden. She volunteers both in Camden and at MFS, where she is a Lower School parent. She is a shining example of the many Camden Scholar alumni who have a heart for community service and are committed to their home town.

Miriam Feyerherm of Medford, NJ, Alice Stokes Paul Merit Award winner, will be honored for a lifetime of commitment to ideals of peace and equality, and inspiring a love of literature in young people. During her 22 years at MFS, she touched the lives of many students, first as a Lower School educator, later as Head Librarian, and as a volunteer in the community.
