Jessica Durdin joins the Moorestown Friends faculty as the Prekindergarten Teaching Assistant in Lisa Martin’s classroom. She was familiar with the MFS campus from two summers of working as a camp counselor, and “just being in the environment and hearing about its excellent reputation” made her eager to join the community.

She graduated from Eastern University in 2014 with a B.S. in early childhood education and ESL, certified to teach in New Jersey. Jessica has worked in a number of early childhood learning centers and local preschools, but most recently was incorporating art, music, and movement into her lessons as a kindergarten teacher for two years at Ambassador Christian Academy in Glassboro, NJ.

Jessica grew up in nearby Medford and is looking forward to getting to know the local students and families of the MFS community.

“Education provides the unique opportunity to really bridge the gap between different families, groups, cultures, and ages to create a community of understanding and learning,” said Jessica. “I want to be a part of that process and growth, especially with young learners, and it is what drew me into the field of education.”

She is very involved in her local church, Fellowship Alliance Chapel, and works with the middle school, young adult, and Alpha groups there. Jessica loves music, reading, and spending time with her family. She was married in May to her husband, Jordan.
