On October 22, 13 MFS Model UN delegates and their advisor History Department Chair Clark Thomson traveled to Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees for the South Jersey Model United Nations conference (SJMUN).

After a full day of wrestling with issues and crises, three students were awarded honors at closing ceremonies. Jordan Brunner ’19 was awarded Best Novice for her work in the Special Political and Decolonization Committee (SPECPOL). Mariana Goldlust ’19, attending her first conference,  was awarded Honorable Mention in the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC). Senior veteran John Barton ’17 was recognized with an Honorable Mention as Robert “Fighting Bob” LaFollette in the 1917 House Committee on Foreign Affairs. Rachael Whitley ’17 also served as a committee chair for the World Health Organization.
