Whitney Womack ’16 was honored with a Good Citizenship Award on May 13 at The Union League of Philadelphia. She was nominated for the award by the Camden School of Musical Arts, a branch of Settlement Music School, where she has been a violin student for the past ten years.

“We believe that Whitney’s service in the community recommends her well to be nominated for this award,” said Valerie Clayton, director of the music school. “She volunteers in her church by teaching Sunday school, visiting nursing homes, and helping to maintain the church property. Whitney participates in her church music program in addition to her participation in recitals and performances at Settlement Music School.”

The award ceremony was held as part of Philadelphia’s 69th Annual Good Citizen Day. Approximately 285 young people from 47 Philadelphia area youth service organizations were honored at the event.
