A Moorestown Friends School team was the overall winner at the New Jersey Elementary (Grades 4-6) Science Olympiad, held May 9 at MFS. A second MFS team also fared well, placing fifth overall. Eleven teams from ten schools throughout the state participated in the event. Events included Tennis Ball Catapult, Chopper Challenge, Barge Building, Mystery Architecture, Straw Egg Drop, and Water Rockets.

The first place team was comprised of students Lauren Articolo, Cal Blumberg, Lily Buchdahl, Christine Chandran, Aiden Connolly, Colin Cooper, Abby Dawson, Adi Fox, Vani Hanamirian, Cole Harvey, Lauren Kam, Chris Little, Tyler Mininno, Ryan Mullock, Kayla Patel, Elliot Smith, Otis Thomson, and Peter Tummarello. Coaches are Science Teacher Deborah Carter-Bruvik and Rebekka Schultz.

Many thanks to parent Jana Gelernt, who coordinated the efforts of 29 parents and alumni, 35 Upper School students, and the MFS Science and Engineering Department.
