Financial Literacy Class Researches Retirement Fund Investments

MS/US Math Teacher Scott Hanson’s Financial Literacy class ended their investment unit by learning about and presenting on various retirement plans. The students chose among 401Ks, Traditional IRAs, or Roth IRAs for their research. Each student completed a survey to determine their personal investing risk tolerance and then created a portfolio allocation of different low-cost mutual funds. They additionally studied target date retirement funds, which helped them to feel at ease in their investment selections.
