Lizzie Cohen ’19 studied Global Leadership for two weeks this summer through Oxford Royale Academy at Balliol College, University of Oxford. She joined a cohort of 600 students from around the world, all of whom gathered on Oxford’s campus for educational exploration in subjects of their choosing.

Lizzie’s class centered around political science in an international context. At the Royale Academy graduation ceremony, she received the program’s top academic recognition, the Attainment Prize.

“The majority of my courses would be framed with a particular goal so we could get a taste of what a larger major would look like,” Lizzie says. “So sometimes that was macroeconomics, sometimes that was international relations, sometimes that was defining a social science.”

Lizzie has wanted to pursue Business for about a year now, and the Oxford program solidified her desire to focus on a global perspective.

“I was the only American in my class of 15 students,” she says. “And then in the overall program of 600 students I think there were eight Americans. So having that very diverse, very multicultural classroom really added to the education for me.”

Lizzie looks forward to further exploring the business world when she begins college next year.
