Sarah Moser arrives at Moorestown Friends this year as a Middle and Upper School Science Teacher. She will be teaching sixth grade Earth Science, eighth grade Biology, and ninth grade Biology, and serving as a Middle School Advisor.

Upon graduating with a B.A. in cognitive science and business German from Northwestern University, Sarah traveled on a Fulbright Scholarship to Essen, Germany, where she mastered the German language and taught middle and upper school English. She returned to the U.S. after four years abroad and began teaching middle school science in North Carolina at Forsyth Country Day School. Most recently, Sarah was a German and ESL Teacher at Chambersburg Area Senior High School in Pennsylvania.

The most influential figure for Sarah in guiding her career in education was her mentor teacher in Germany.

“Her cheerful attitude towards school and teenagers every single day was inspiring to me,” said Sarah. “She always took the time to get to know her students as people and her teaching was so much stronger for it. I strive to be like her by forming relationships with students, taking part in their growth both as a person and as a student, and getting to know them in and outside the classroom.”

At MFS, Sarah hopes to maintain a positive, warm environment for students to feel comfortable and build themselves into the adults they wish to be.

“I thrive on working with young people and what better a profession than teaching to guide them on their way!” said Sarah.

Throughout her childhood, Sarah was a competitive gymnast and she is currently a passionate acrobat. She has coached children and adults in both sports. With her training, she can hold a handstand for over a minute!
