Senior Class Kicks Off Year with a Barbeque
By Vani Hanamirian, Marketing and Communications Student Intern
The Class of 2022 gathered on the Oval on Friday, September 22 for a “Senior Barbeque.” Lots of laughter was heard as students enjoyed playing Spikeball, cornhole, and tossing the football around the Oval. Adirondack chairs were arranged on the lawn in circles for students to use for conversation, while Sage Dining provided burger sliders, salad, and dessert. Mr. Softee made an appearance, providing ice cream, sundaes, and milkshakes for students.
Class officers Aani Desai, Trisha Nelson, Ishaan Shah, and Jason Strauss planned the event along with Upper School Director Noah Rachlin and Dean of Students Will Miller.
“I thought it went great,” said Ishaan. “There was a diverse body of friend groups, which was nice to see. I think it was a great kickoff to senior year.”
A combination of football and ice cream left Andrew Elmore with one thought, “Senior Barbeque was a nice time to just have fun with the grade while enjoying some good food.”
Mr. Softee was the highlight for Katerina Kostopoulos ’22, who also enjoyed the gathering. “I think it was a good way to see and connect with our classmates again after the past couple of years and the pandemic,” she said.
