The Head’s Perspective: “Making sense of life and learning in the time of Coronavirus”

Mar 17, 2020

The following message was sent to all school families:

Dear Families,

As we are gearing up for our first week of Virtual MFS, I’m sure you are juggling many different responsibilities. For many of us, we have been thrust into a remote world where we are balancing work and parenting, while trying to process the changing situation surrounding COVID-19. This can be a lot to handle, so I am dedicating this Head’s Perspective entirely to resources and ideas for you to help your family make the most of this time at home.

I have watched in awe of our faculty these past few days as they dig in and prepare for your children’s arrival online. Seeing them explore new ideas and engage each other in collaborative learning has reminded me of just how creative and open we can all be when faced with the most challenging circumstances. I hope you find these resources helpful as you support your children in a new era of online learning and social distancing. All of us at Moorestown Friends School are here as a resource for you and look forward to nurturing our community in new ways.

Stay healthy and safe, friends.

Warmly,

Julia de la Torre
Head of School
