On Saturday, December 15, the MFS History Bowl team placed second in the Toms River Southern New Jersey JV History Bowl. The team now qualifies for the National Championships in Arlington, VA and Washington D.C. on April 26-28. Kayla Patel ’21 also earned fourth place in the Toms River Individual History Bee.

The National History Bee and Bowl organization was founded in 2010. It has since grown to encompass tournaments in over 20 countries, including an annual International History Olympiad. Competitions revolve around tests of speed and memory; students use buzzers in a Q&A format similar to quiz bowls or Jeopardy!.

Further information about the Southern NJ tournament can be found on the National History Bee and Bowl website.
