Red & Blue Club The Red & Blue Athletic Booster Club is a parent organization that provides active support for the MFS athletic department. During the 2008-2009 school year, the Club will meet on the following evenings at 7 p.m. in the Moriuchi Room of Stokes Hall: Monday, October 6, 2008 Monday, November 10, 2008 Monday, February 2, 2009 Monday, March 2, 2009 Monday, April 27, 2009
Over the years, the Red & Blue Club has funded new weight training equipment, a baseball backstop, scoreboards, and provided contributions to the Markia Harley Scholarship Endowment and the George Thomas Endowment for Faculty Salaries. In past years, the club has hosted all-school volleyball tournaments and assisted with the Varsity Night in the spring. Annual Events Red Sock Run The Red Sock Run was established in May 2004 in memory of former faculty member George Thomas, who passed away after 25 years of service to MFS. The event, which takes place annually on Alumni Weekend, features a One Mile Fun Run/Walk, a Toddler Trek for ages 5 and younger, and a 5K race. Red and Blue Club Golf & Tennis Tournament Hosted by the Red & Blue Club, the biennial Golf & Tennis Tournament is the chief fund- raising event for the Athletic Department. The 2008 Tournament raised more than $27,000.
