Champion of Equal Rights for Women, 1885-1977Alice Paul in The New York Times

A 1901 graduate of Moorestown Friends School, Alice Paul was the architect of some of the most outstanding political achievements on behalf of women in the 20th century. Her tactics of direct action to promote women’s suffrage included picketing the White House, obstruction of traffic, rallies, lobbying, petitions, parades and election campaigns.
