Applying to Moorestown Friends School is simple and we are here to help you through the process via phone, email, Zoom, or Google Meet.

Application Steps

1. Begin the online application
    • Click on the Ravenna link to create an account. 
    • Choose “Southern New Jersey Area” and click on Moorestown Friends School from the drop-down list.
    • The application fee is $45; the fee can be waived after attending an open house or coming for a visit. 
2. Help us get to know you
    • Fill out the Parent/Guardian Statement
    • Students applying to Grades 5 – 12, please fill out a Student Questionnaire and upload a writing sample.
    • Please upload:
      • A copy of your child’s birth certificate 
      • A photo of your child
3. Teacher recommendations
    1. Students entering Preschool through Grade 4 – we ask for a recommendation from your child’s current teacher. Input the teacher’s email and a link will be sent directly to the teacher. When the form is submitted, it will go directly into your child’s file.
    2. Students entering Grades 5 through 12recommendations are requested from both your child’s English and Math teachers. Input the teachers’ emails and a link will be sent directly to the teachers. When forms are submitted, they will go directly into your child’s file.
    3. Finally, download, print, and sign the Request for Release of Records form and give it to your child’s Guidance Office at the current school. This gives permission for a copy of your child’s transcript to be mailed from the current school to Moorestown Friends School.
4. Visit our school
    • Contact the Admissions Office to schedule your Parent Meeting with one of our Admissions Team members.
    • Schedule your 1st – 12th grade child for a School Day Visit during your Parent Meeting, or by calling our office.
      • *Preschoolers will be invited for a Playgroup.*
5. Admissions testing
    • *There is no testing for children applying to Preschool, Prekindergarten, and Kindergarten, or Grades 1, 2, 3 or 4.*
    • Children applying to Grades 5 – 12 are assessed using the SSAT, a national admissions assessment, which will be offered at Moorestown Friends School on the dates below. The SSAT can also be taken at other local school on on other dates. See the SSAT website to find other dates and locations.
    • To register for an in-house testing date, please go to your online application admissions testing section. There you’ll find the special code for the MFS test. Use that code when you go on the SSAT website to register for the test.
      •  Screenings are held on these dates: 
        • Saturday, December 7
        • Sunday, December 8 (Middle and Upper School students only)
        • Saturday, January 18
        • Saturday, February 29
    • If none of these dates work for your family, or if you are applying past the deadlines for these tests, please contact the Admissions Office.
    • We also accept the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam). Click on this link to find a testing date and location.

For children applying to Grades 3 and up, we also accept the national ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam).
