MFS Celebrates Foluke Balogun and Chelsea Mohammed Signing NLIs to Continue Soccer Careers at Collegiate Level

Today the Moorestown Friends Athletic Department hosted a signing day celebration for Girls’ Soccer players Foluke Balogun (Northeastern University) and Chelsea Mohammed (University of Rhode Island) who recently signed their National Letters of Intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level.

Foluke Balogun is the all-time leading career goalscorer in Moorestown Friends School Girls’ Soccer program history with 93 goals. Last year, she set a single-season scoring record with 32 goals. She ended her career with 93 goals and 18 assists. Last year she was named Second Team All-State – Non-Public by NJ.com. She was named a First Team Friends Schools League all-star in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Chelsea Mohammed is the all-time leading career saves leader in MFS Girls’ Soccer program history with 457 saves. She set the single-season saves record last season with 168 saves. Along with Foluke, Chelsea was also named a First Team Friends Schools League all-star in 2021, 2022, 2023. Friends Schools League coaches recognized Chelsea as one of two student-athletes selected as All-Southeastern Pennsylvania from the league. She was selected to participate in the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Association Senior All-Star Game. Chelsea was also the 2023 Herm Magee Award winner. The Herm Magee Award is presented to a male and female athlete for outstanding athletic achievement, leadership, and sportsmanship contributions to MFS athletics during the school year.
