Fourth Graders Use Coding Skills To Produce Social Studies Projects

Mar 22, 2023

Fourth graders have been connecting what they have learned about justice and the Civil Rights Movement with their budding circuitry skills in Coding class. Students applied basic circuitry and programming knowledge to bring their messages to life with motion, lights, sound, and more. Many of the students’ projects sought to help people understand Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s impact on the world. They also learned that great people and big events are an important part of making change for the better, but that many regular people and events that may not have made headlines or succeeded at first are also necessary to make change happen. The struggle for a just society continues today and includes us all.

Students hosted an exhibit on March 21 during which their Lower School friends in preschool through third grade could view and learn about their projects.
