Author and Climate Activist Daniel Hunter Meets with Seventh Grade

Jan 10, 2024

After learning about Climate Change in English, social studies, and science class, seventh grade students read The Climate Resistance Handbook by MFS parent Daniel Hunter. Students were tasked with summarizing key points of each chapter and preparing questions for Daniel based on the reading. During community time on January 9, Daniel visited with students to answer their questions and discuss stewardship and service learning as they prepare for their week of Intensive Learning in the Spring. During that week, one day they will go to the Taylor Preserve along the Delaware River to learn about the ecosystem and clean up trash and debris.

Following the discussion, Daniel spent time with individual groups of students to discuss their project plans as they prepare for the Seventh Grade Climate Change Symposium later this month.
