Lower School Students Gather for 2020 Jumping 4 George Events
The eighth annual Jumping 4 George celebration took place during the week of March 2-6. Students in prekindergarten through fourth grade participated in special fitness activities to practice and develop their jump-rope skills.
Jumping 4 George remembers George Thomas, the father of Technology Teacher Lisa Thomas Martin, MFS Class of ’84, who taught at MFS for 25 years before his sudden death in 2003. For much of the latter part of his career, George taught fourth grade and established a tradition of wearing red socks on Fridays. His students joined him by wearing red socks on Fridays as well.
