Student Publications IMAGES and Cupola Receive First Place Awards in National Press Competitions

Two student publications, the 2019 Cupola yearbook and the 2019 IMAGES literary magazine, have received first place awards from the American Scholastic Press Association.

The Cupola, released with the theme “United Yet Unique,” also received a Gold Award from the Garden State Scholastic Press Association. The Editors-in-Chief were Mya Corsey ’19, Andrew Rowan ’19, and Courtney Tarter ’19; a total of 24 students served on the yearbook staff. English Teacher Emily Salazar and Art Teacher Nicole Edmund co-advised.

The 2019 edition of IMAGES magazine included photographs, poetry, stories, and artwork surrounding the theme of “Brainstorm.” In addition to its First Place designation, this edition received a Special Category Award for Outstanding Art, awarded to Echo Yan ’19 for the oil painting Watchful Eyes. The editor-in-chief was Julia Kropiewnicki ’19 and Ms. Salazar was the faculty advisor.
